As the son of a Southern Baptist Minister, he spent his childhood in various churches across North Carolina. His high school years were spent in Robbinsville N.C., where he met his wife Janice, of forty years. They have been blessed with two sons Westley and wife Lindsay, and Ethan who is married to Karin.Together they have added six beautiful grandchildren to the Drum Family.
 
Pastor Drum, a native of North Carolina, earned each of his degrees from Southern Baptist Schools in North Carolina. His undergraduate work was completed at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and Wingate University. He received his postgraduate degrees from Southeastern Baptist Seminary. He has held numerous Associational and North Carolina State Baptist Positions, and has served on National Level Committees with the Southern Baptist Convention.
 
After enjoying a long and successful ministry at South River Baptist Church he was called to Langston Baptist church for seven years. In 2019, he was called to Tri-City Baptist Church, where he continues to be blessed to see the church experience a renewed spiritual vitality and some promising growth. He is an enthusiastic speaker who is thrilled with the opportunity of proclaiming the unsearchable riches of God’s word.
